Next Generation Youth Pastor

Background: This position is part of the Ministry Team at the Southside International Church (SIC) situated in Sunnybank Hills, Brisbane, and answers to the Senior pastor. SIC is a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance church and is a growing multicultural Christian Church consisting of English, Hmong, and Mandarin Congregations. This position is a fulltime role focused on reaching and discipling the next generation youth for Jesus.

Ministry to youth is seen as a key ministry in SIC and not just a steppingstone to Pastoral ministry.

Key Responsibilities

Oversight of the Youth ministries including:

- The Youth groups

- The Sunday schools

- The Young adult ministry

The Sunday evening worship focused on Next Generation Youth and Young Adults.

Major Organizational Goal: SIC seeks to glorify God as one mullti-cultural integrated family by fulfilling the Great Commandment and the Great Commission of our Lord Jesus Christ. SIC is a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance church..

Functional Goal: To ensure that the Next Generation of the Southside International Church are being evangelized, discipled, and equipped to serve Jesus. This will be achieved through personally engaging in ministry but primarily through the encouragement and mentoring of the Youth Ministry Teams.

Overall Outcome

The position of Next Generation Pastor exists to ensure that Youth are coming to Christ, being discipled and cared for, and are engaged in local and Overseas Mission activities.

Essential qualities

An understanding of God’s Word with an ability to communicate it in a way which engages with Youth.

An awareness of Youth Cultural and in particular “Third Culture Kids”

Able to relate well to Youth and their parents.

The successful candidate for this role will have completed or mostly completed some bible college or ministry training and have a love for sharing Jesus with young people.

Sydney Chinese Alliance Church is a vibrant community within the Christian and Missionary Alliance Australia, encompassing two distinct congregations: Cantonese-Mandarin and English.

The English congregation, known as George Street Christian Community, has flourished and now boasts a congregation of approximately 30 individuals. This diverse congregation comprises high school and university students, working adults and young families.

The English congregation is currently running the following ministries:

Ø Sunday service

Ø Fellowships and small groups

Ø Worship team practice

Ø Various evangelistic community events throughout the year, including the Easter Egg hunt.

The Board of Elders now seeks a God-called candidate to lead and guide the English Congregation in fulfilling His purpose and mission.

Job Description

This is a full-time pastoral position entailing the development and supervision of all ministries within the English Congregation. The responsibilities include:

· Providing pastoral care for young families with children.

· Regularly delivering sermons during Sunday services.

· Collaborating with team leaders to provide guidance and oversight for existing ministries.

· Engaging in evangelistic efforts within the Rockdale community.

· Strengthening the foundation of the English Congregation through disciple-making and sound doctrinal teachings.

· Reporting to the Senior Pastor and the Board of Elders.

Qualifications

· Education Requirements: A minimum of a bachelor's degree in theology/divinity or higher from an accredited seminary or university.

· Pastoral Experience: Minimum of two years of ministry experience, preferably pastoral ministry.

· Background or Experience in Asian Culture: Experience in a cross-cultural setting, with a particular emphasis on Asian culture.

· Acceptance of C&MA Statement of Faith, Doctrine and Tradition

· Administrative Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in prioritization, planning, organization, execution, and effective delegation of lay leaders, fostering a collaborative team spirit. Ability to work effectively within a team is essential.

Hills Christian Alliance Church is part of the Christian and Missionary Alliance of Australia. We have three congregations (Cantonese, English and Mandarin). We started the English congregation in 2008 and have developed into a mature congregation with about 50 people. The congregation consists of high school and university students, working adults and young couples.

We are currently running the following ministries:

We have a team of leaders in the English congregation who are involved in those ministries, however, we are looking for a suitable candidate called into pastoral ministry to further develop and disciple our English congregation.

Job Summary

This is a full-time pastoral position that has the responsibility of developing and supervising all ministries of the English Congregation, the goal of which is a Christ-centered ministry that builds up believers, trains them for ministry, and equips them to reach others.

Qualifications

1. Education Requirements: Bachelor Degree in theological studies or related field.

2. Pastoral Experience: Minimum of one year pastoral experience. Experience may include internship, mission work, or other full-time or part-time ministries. Sensitivity to issues in a multicultural, multilingual, and multi-generational congregation is preferable.

4. Acceptance of C&MA Statement of faith, Doctrine and Tradition

5. Love People: A caring individual willing to invest in the lives of his flock in doing life together. Is skilled and involved in interpersonal relationships and works well as part of a team.

6. Administrative Skills: Has appropriate administrative skills particularly that of prioritising in planning, organising, executing and delegating lay leaders in such a manner that develops a spirit of team ministry. Willingness to work with pastoral and office staff is a necessity.

- To involve in short-term and long-term planning for the congregation and church.

- To report to the Senior Pastor.

Christian Alliance Church of Victoria (CACV), is a local church in Burwood VIC with a Chinese and an English congregation.

We are seeking a full-time pastor for our English Congregation to further flourish the ministries for youth, young adults and families. You should have the heart to serve and lead the young congregation, as well as a strong calling in building passionate followers of our Lord Jesus Christ. Cantonese Pastor

We have three congregations of around 400 participants attending the three services in Cantonese, English and Mandarin every Sunday. The Cantonese Congregation accounts for around 2/3 of the total. We are seeking a Cantonese Pastor to assist the development of our Cantonese Ministry and minister to the congregation. The applicant should possess BTh or above, have a clear calling to serve in the local church, agree with the doctrinal statement of the Christian & Missionary Alliance of Australia, be fluent in Cantonese and English (Mandarin will be an advantage), and have permanent residency in Australia.
